This remedy produces congestion in pelvic organs esp. anus, rectum and uterus; resulting in haemorrhoids and constipation esp. in females. Depressed arterial tension, general atony of muscular fiber.  It is useful in affections due to piles or alternating with piles esp. heart. Congestion in portal system causes chronic nasal, gastric and pharyngeal catarrh. Constipation of children from intestinal atony. Sensations of constriction and feeling of enlargement are felt in various parts and organs of the body, limbs, vulva, clitoris etc. When given before operation on rectal disease it is apt to reduce, after complications. • Pelvic and portal congestion resulting in dysmenorrhoea and haemorrhoids.
• Dropsy from cardiac diseases
• Papitation in patients subject to piles and indigestion, heart's action persistently rapid but weak. 
• After heart is reieved old piles reappear or suppressed menses return.
• Chronic, painful, bleeding piles with sensation as if sticks, sand or gravel had lodged on rectum
• Most obstinate constipation with prouding piles
• Haemorrhoidal dysentry with tenesmus.
• Congestion of pelvic viscera with piles in later months of pregnancy , haemorrhoidal dysentry with tenesmus
• Constipation during menses which is painful and profuse menses with passage of clots and membranes following childbirth
• Once the heart symptoms are relieved, piles or menses returns. Heart troubles alternate with haemorrhoids. Difficulty in breathing with severe palpitation, oppression of the chest and fainting.
• Stools sluggish and hard with pain and great faltulence.
• Pruritis in pregnancy with haemorrhoids, unable to lie down.

MODALITIES:

• Worse: From the slightest mental emotion or excitement and cold.
• Better: by heat.
