It causes paralytic weakness of me muscles in all parts of the body. Tendency to induration of glands, and other tissues is very marked. Tongue, rectum, uterus etc., are hardened; ulcers with indurated base. Adapted to old people suffering from bronchial catarrh. The clinical application of this remedy points to its bowel symptoms, both in obstinate constipation and in haemorrhage from bowels in the course of typhoid. Mental paresis; dysphagia especially to liquids. Tendency to induration, Scirrhus of the tongue. Sensation of dryness, and of constriction. Constipation of the most aggravated kind, as in cancer of uterus and rectum. Haemorrhages; from leech bite; with large clots. Sensitive to cold; exposure to air causes roughness and chaps in the skin. Useful after operations on the eyes and teeth. Yellow bland discharges. Sensation of constriction, as of a cord or band around limbs, in paralytic states. Relaxation of muscles.

Take 5 drops in half cup of water 3 times a day or as prescribed by the physician OR

Medicate the globules and take 4-6 globules 3 times a day or as prescribed by the physician.

• Obstinate constipation and hemorrhage from the bowel especially in cases of typhoid
• Constipation with no desire to pass stools for days. Stools are hard, knotty and discharged with much difficulty with sick headache in the morning. Long lasting pain in the rectum after each stool with painful bleeding and itching in the anus.
• Vertigo with weakness in the pit of stomach better opening eyes, better turning on right side.
• Headache better drinking cold water.
• Difficulty swallowing liquids.
• Colic worse by walking, with fulness and heaviness. (Potter's colic, lead colic.)
• Very obstinate constipation; no desire for days. Hard, marble- like masses passed, but rectum still feels full. Long lasting pain and smarting in rectum after stools.
• No ability to expel stool. Marble-like masses pass, but rectum still feels full. Itching after stool. Itching in anus.
• Haemoptysis, great weakness of chest; difficult to expel mucus. Copious, ropy morning expectoration in old people.
• Palpitation; worse lying on right side, from thinking of her disease.
• Eczema on the back of penis and scrotum.

MODALITIES:

• Worse: Cold except headache, which is relieved by cold, During sleep; lying on right side; cold. Bad news.
