It disturbs the MIND; brain and nervous system profoundly. Diabolical force seems to take possession of the brain preventing its functions. It causes a perfect picture of mania of a quarrelsome and lascivious nature. Convulsions; trembling, jerks; twitchings, cramps are very marked features. Active mania or convulsions, alternate with, or ends in deep sopor. Motions of the arms are clutching or angular; throws arms about, misses what is reached for; totters while walking. Paralysis after spasms. Epilepsy; vertigo before the attack. Falls suddenly to the ground with cries. CARPHOLOGY, picks at bed clothes, at fingers. When lying on back, suddenly sits up and lies down again. Child sobs and cries without waking. Eclampsia. Subsultus; during fevers. Septic fevers. Slides down in bed. Ill effects of suppressed lochia or milk. Fright, disappointed love. Chorea; local, twitchings of solitary muscles; squinting, stammering. Suitable to nervous; irritable, excitable persons. Sensation as if walking on and through air.  Inclined to be unseemly and immodest in acts, gestures and expressions. Very talkative, and persists in stripping herself, or uncovering genitals. Is jealous, afraid of being poisoned, etc. Its symptoms also point to weakness and nervous agitation; hence typhoid and other infections with coma vigil. Tremulous weakness and twitching of tendons. Subsultus tendinum. Muscular twitchings, spasmodic affections, generally with delirium. Non-inflammatory cerebral activity. Toxic gastritis.

  • Persons of sanguine temperament; who are irritable, nervous, hysterical.
  • Convulsions: of children, from fright or the irritation of intestinal worms; during labor; during the peurperal state; after meals, child vomits, sudden shriek, then insensible.
  • Diseases with increased cerebral activity, but non-inflammatory in type; hysteria or delirium tremens; delirium, with resplessness, jumps out of bed, tries ot escape; makes irrelevant answers; thinks he is in the wrong place; talks of imaginary doings, but has no wants and makes no complaints.
  • Spasms: without conciousness, very restless; every muscle in the body twitches, from the eyes to the toes.
  • Fears: being alone; poison; being bitten; being sold; to eat or drink; to take what is offered; suspicious, of some plot. Bad effects of unfortunate love; with jealousy, rage, incohorent speech or inclination to laugh at everything; often followed by epilepsy.
  • Great loquacity and very suspicious, obscene, jealous and inclined to laugh at silly things.
  • Lascivious mania where the person tries to uncover the body with great joy and often attempts to run away.
  • Extreme sleepiness with low muttering speech, from business embarrasments, often imaginary.
  • Cough; dry, nocturnal, spasmodic;  worse when lying down, relieved when sitting up; worse at night, after eating, drinking, talking singing
  • Sensation of falling down with head feeling light and confused as if intoxicated. Sensation as if brain is loose and shaking. 
  • Impaired speech with stiffness and spasms of jaw.
  • Episodes of convulsions ad spasms ending in deep sleep. Neuralgic pains and cramps in calves and toes.
  • Sordes of the teeth and cracking and dropping of lower jaw.
  • Muscular twitchings, spasmodic affections, generally with delirium.
  • Paralysis of bladder; after labor, with retention or incontinence of urine; no desire to urinate in lying-in women.
  •  Fever: pneumonia, scarlatina, rapidly becomes typhoid; sensorium clouded, staring eyes, gasping at flocks or picking bed clothes, teeth covered with sordes, tongue dry and unweildly; involuntary stool and urine; subsultus teninum.

MODALITIES:

  • Worse: at night, during menses, after eating and when lying down.
  • Better: from stooping.
