It expends its force of action on the BRAIN, producing marked and persistent disorder of the mental faculty; hallucinations; fixed notions, terrifying delirium etc. Therefore it is a remedy of TERRORS; but it does not in its ordinary effect cause actual pain. Secretions are suppressed, passes neither urine nor stool. Throat, skin and spinal nerves are affected as well. Increases the mobility of the muscles of expression and of locomotion; the motions may be graceful, rhythmic or disorderly, of head and arms. Trembling of limbs. Parkinsonism. Tremors; nervous. Convulsions, spasms worse at night; after masturbation. Paralysis of one side, convulsions of the other side, or unilateral paralysis; with twitching. Chorea, epilepsy; from fright. Hysteria, weeping, laughing, with sexual excitement. Catalepsy, limbs can be moved by others. Tonic and clonic spasms alternately. Traumatic neuritis. General paralysis of the insane. Ill effects of shock, fright; sun; childbirth; suppressions. Hydrophobia. Delusions as to size and distance. Sensation as if limbs were separated from body.

Anasarca (after scarlatina). Aphasia. Apoplexy. Burns. Catalepsy. Chordee. Chorea. Delirium tremens. Diaphragmitis. Ecstasy. Enuresis. Epilepsy. Erotomania. Eyes, affections of. Headache; from sun. Hiccough. Hydrophobia. Hysteria. Lochia, offensive. Locomotor ataxy. Mania. Meningitis. Nymphomania. esophagus, spasm of. Scarlatina. Stammering. Starting. Strabismus. Sunstroke. Tetanus. Thirst. Tremors. Trismus. Typhus.

Take 5 drops in half cup of water 3 times a day or as prescribed by the physician OR

Medicate the globules and take 4-6 globules 3 times a day or as prescribed by the physician.

  • Adapted to: ailments of young plethoric persons; especially children in chorea; mania and fever delirium.
  • Delirium: loquacious, talks all the time, sings, makes verses, raves; simulates Bell. and Hyos., yet differs in degree.
  • The delirium is more furious, the mania more acute, while the congestion, though greater that Hyos., is much less that Bell., never approaching a true inflammation.
  • Disposed to talk continually; incessant and incohorent talking and laughing; praying, beseeching, entreating; with suppressed menses.
  • Desires light and company; cannot bear to be alone; worse in the dark and solitude; cannot walk in a dark room.
  • Awakens with a shrinking look, as if afraid of the first object seen.
  • Hallucinations which terrify the patient.
  • Desire to escape, in delirium
  • Imagines all sorts of things; that she is double, lying crosswise, etc.
  • Head feels as is scattered about
  • Eyes wide open, prominent, brilliant; pupils widely dilated, insensible; contortion of eyes and eyelids.
  • Pupils dilate when child is reprimanded.
  • Face hot and red with cold hands and feet; circumscribed redness of cheeks, blood rushes to face; risus sardonicus.
  • Stammering; has to exert himself a long time before he can utter a word; makes great effort to speak; distorts the face
  • Vomiting: as soon as he raises head from pillow; from a bright light.
  • Convulsions: from consciousness; renewed by sight of bright light, of mirror or water
  • Twitching of single muscle or groups of muscles, especially upper part of body; chorea.
  • Hydrophobia: fear of water, with excessive aversion to liquids; spasmodic constriction of throat.
  • No pain with most complaints; painlessness is characteristic
  • Sleepy, but cannot sleep
  • Visions of ghosts, hears voices and talks with spirits.
  • Sudden changes in the moods from happiness to sadness.
  • Lewd, violent, delusional and confused about his identity and body.
  • Defective vision where the person complains of darkness and calls for light, small objects seems to appear large, parts of the body seem big and swollen and all the objects look black.
  • Involuntary movements of extremities with graceful, rhythmic motions.

?MODALITIES:

  • Worse: in dark room, when alone, looking at bright or shining objects, after sleep and on swallowing.
