SBL Ledum Palustre 30 CH (30 ml)

This remedy affects the fibrous tissue; of JOINTS esp. small; ankles; tendons; heels and SKIN; hence it can be called a rheumatic remedy, where rheumatism begins in the feet and travels upwards. Affected parts become purple puffy; and then emaciates. The patient, is always chilly, affected parts are cold; yet averse to external warmth. There is a general lack of vital heat. Painful, cold, oedematous joints. Shifting, tearing pains. Weakness and numbness of the affected parts. Torpidity of integuments esp. after suppression of discharges from the eyes, ears and the nose. Haemorrhages; of bright frothy blood. Dropsy. Petechiae. Tetanus with twitchings of muscles near the wound. Ill effects of alcohol, hair cutting suppressed discharges, punctured wounds, recent or chronic injuries bites, sings, bruises. Drunkards. Rushes of blood. Abscess and septic conditions better by cold. If Ledum is given immediately after punctured wounds, it prevents tetanus. Hypericum when tetanus develops. It is adapted to full-blooded, plethoric, robust or pale delicate patients.

Take 5 drops in half cup of water 3 times a day or as prescribed by the physician OR

Medicate the globules and take 4-6 globules 3 times a day or as prescribed by the physician.

• Adapted to the rheumatic, gouty diathesis; constitutions abused by alcohol.
• Haemorrhage into anterior chamber after iridectomy.
• Contusions of eye and lids, especially if much extravasation of blood; ecchymosis of lids and conjunctiva.
• Rheumatism or gout; begins in lower limbs and ascends; especially if brought to a low asthenic condition by abuse of Colchicum; joints become the seat of nodosities and "gout stones." which are painful; acute and chronic arthiritis.
• Affects left shoulder and right hip-joint.
• Emaciation of affected parts.
• Pains are sticking, tearing, throbbing; rheumatic pains are worse by motion; worse at night, by warmth of bed and bed-covering (Mer.); better only when holding feet in ice-water.
• Complaints of people who are cold all the time; always feel cold and chilly; lack of animal or vital heat, the wounded parts especially are cold to touch.
• Parts cold to touch, but not cold subjectively to patient.
• In some affections, warmth of bed intolerable on account of heat and burning of limbs.
• Swelling: of feet, up to knees; of ankle with unbearable pain when walking, as from a sprain or false step; ball of great toe swollen, painful; in heels as if bruised. Intense itching of feet and ankles; worse from scratching and warmth of bed.
• Easy spraining of ankles and feet.
• Punctured wounds by sharp pointed instruments, as awls, nails; rat bites, stings of insects, especially mosquitoes.
• Red pimples or tubercules on forehead and cheeks, as in brandy drinkers, stinging when touched.
• Long-remaining discoloration after injuries: "black and blue" places become green.
• Pain in small joints with heat and swelling.
• Pain from lower limbs travelling upwards.
• Eruptions which burn & sting like bites or stings of insects

MODALITIES:

• Better: from cold, and by putting feet in cold water.
•  Worse: at night, and from heat of bed.
